ELASTICITY AND ELASTIC LIMIT.

Elasticity

" When a body is subjected to an external force, the body tends to undergo some deflection. When the external force is removed, the body regains it's original position. Such a body is said to be 'ELASTIC BODY'. This property, by which the material regains it's original position is called 'ELASTICITY'. "

Elasticity of Rubber Band
For e.g. When a rubber band is pulled apart it undergoes some deflection, and when the external force of these fingers is removed then it regains its original position. Hence, this rubber band is called "ELASTIC BODY" and the property  of regaining its original position is called "ELASTICITY".

Elastic Limit

Body exhibit elastic property until certain value of  force. The value of stress corresponding to this limiting force is known as ELASTIC LIMIT of the material.

If the external force is so large then than the elastic limit, The body loses its elastic property i.e., the material will not return to its original shape and size.

If the force applied by the beautiful gal is more than that of suspension elastic limit, then it gets failed.
